Collier County commissioners have approved a new apartment complex that will include affordable rentals, but not without debate.

On Oct. 28, the board unanimously approved the 92-unit project off Collier Boulevard, near Hacienda Lakes in South Naples. Thirty percent, or 28 of the units, will be income restricted.

While the project didn’t face neighborhood opposition, Commissioner Chris Hall pulled it from the summary agenda, which is reserved for non-controversial matters and approved in one fell swoop, without discussion…
