Naples’ residents starred in a couple of the 60 films that hit the big screen at Naples International Film Festival. One film, Parker and Sammy, won viewers’ hearts – and the Audience Award of the Festival. Another celebrated Naples’ fine artist Lynda Braun.
Meanwhile, just on the cusp of Naples, the photography of the renowned Carlton Ward, Jr., once again drew NIFF audiences to the importance of life in the Everglades. This time, the film Little Brown Bird told a different story of the relationship between animals and humans in South Florida. Little Brown Bird won Best Florida Film at NIFF. Carlton’s photography from Path of the Panther had been featured in NIFF in years prior, when that film won the Audience Award for Best Documentary Feature in 2022.
The staff of NIFF declared, “That’s a wrap!” to this year’s Film Festival on Sunday, Oct. 26 as the 17th annual celebration of independent film held its Closing Night Ceremony.
