Something new has arrived at Marco Island Academy. This year, students have come together and turned what was just an idea into a successful club. This club is dedicated to spreading kindness and appreciation to everyone on campus. Founded by a senior at MIA, Alina Nguyen, her club has already started making an impact at our school by doing small gestures for the population of MIA.
The Kindness Club meets in the mornings at 7:45 AM in Mrs. Gutwerk’s classroom, creating a warm and welcoming environment to start the day. Their next meeting is scheduled for December 8th, and all MIA students are invited to join, whether they want to participate or simply start their morning surrounded by supportive people.
When Alina first came up with the idea, her goal was to bring people together and make kindness feel natural in everyday life. “I just wanted to create something that reminded people they matter,’’ Alina shared. With support from Mrs. Gutwerk, who offered her classroom as a meeting space, Alina’s idea quickly became a reality.
