FORT MYERS, Fla. — Bundle up and grab an extra hot cup of coffee! Record cold slithered through Punta Gorda and Naples as temperatures plunged into the upper 30s to low 40s. More records may fall Tuesday afternoon.
Afternoon temperatures will struggle to make it out of the 50s. Fort Myers is forecast to only make it to 60 degrees, which would set a record for the coldest high temperature. Records are also set to be made in Naples and Punta Gorda.
We will stay dry with plenty of sunshine, but windy conditions will stick around through the afternoon. Wind gusts will reach 20 to 25 mph, which will elevate our fire danger.
A red flag warning is in effect across the Gulf Coast. Be sure to use caution when burning…
