Collier County recently lost two remarkable leaders whose lives were defined not by titles or recognition, but by service, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to others. Dr. Jaclynn Faffer and Howard Weeks each shaped our community in profound and lasting ways, and their legacies will continue to touch lives for generations to come.
Dr. Jaclynn Faffer saw a need where others saw a gap. When seniors in Collier County had nowhere to turn, she built a place of dignity, connection, and care. Through her leadership, what began as a modest vision grew into the nationally respected Baker Senior Center that became a lifeline for thousands. Dr. Faffer did not just create programs. She created community. She reminded us that how we treat our seniors says everything about who we are.
Howard Weeks was equally dedicated to the people he served. A quiet but powerful force, Howard believed deeply in civic responsibility and giving back.
