One way to mosey into the New Year with a step into healthy living is to walk regularly. The Naples Walking Club has regular events so that the benefits are multiplied in community.
The Naples Walking Club was formed in July 1992 to promote walking on a regular basis for health and fitness. We strive to improve the walking skills of our members, while forming strong bonds of friendship along the way. In additional to regularly scheduled walks, occasional community and charitable events as a club are held.
The Club includes men and women of all ages, backgrounds and capabilities. Some walk quite fast, while others prefer a slower, more leisurely pace. Whatever a person’s capabilities, the club offers walking companions and camaraderie.
Walks on Monday, Wednesday, Friday
Naples Walking Club meets at 7 a.m. in the “Park-n-Walk” parking lot at the corner of 6th Avenue South and 11th Street South, near Tin City, for a 4-mile walk to the City Dock, the Naples Pier, along the beach, and up Fifth Avenue South. The walk is followed by a breakfast at a local restaurant. These walks are held each morning on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Saturday morning walks
Naples Walking Club meets at the Gordon River Greenway, 1590 Goodlette-Frank Road, at 7 am on Saturday. The access is behind the Naples Zoo parking lot. The walk is a 2 to 4-mile walk. Participates choose their own personal distance and speed depending on ability and other factors. This is a diverse group, so there are people for each distance and pace to provide each other company on the walk. After the walk, club members have breakfast together at a local restaurant.

Saturday Walk – Gordon River Greenway, 7 am. Regular Saturday walk at the Gordon River Greenway, with the near address, 1590 Goodlette-Frank Road. Enter from Goodlette Frank Road and park behind the Naples Zoo near the rest rooms for the Greenway. Breakfast at Panera Bread afterwards.
