Naples marked a long-awaited milestone in its recovery from Hurricane Ian with a groundbreaking ceremony for the city’s cherished pier.
Hundreds gathered on and near the pier on the morning of Jan. 5 for the event, which included formal speeches — and a lot of sand throwing with golden shovels and photo ops to celebrate the happy occasion.
