Starting fresh close to home

As the new year begins, many Floridians are looking beyond resolutions and toward meaningful resets — finding small ways to feel re-energized, refocused and more present.

In Naples, many residents started with a community yoga class offered by Love Yoga Center in Baker Park while others ran with the Gulf Coast Runners to benefit Collier County Drug Court. Whatever the case, many people sought to start off on the right foot to benefit body, mind, spirit, community and nature.

Jennifer Belpedio started with a run to give back to the community through Gulf Coast Runners to benefit Collier County Drug Court and then received a spontaneous yoga offering to follow – all well before noon on Thursday, Jan. 1.

“It’s a diversion program to give people a second chance, to let them start fresh and get into recovery instead of a punitive system,” said Belpedio, a defense attorney in Collier and Lee counties…
