After 20 years as an air personality in Southwest Florida, Patty Amandis decided to wake up and smell the coffee — literally.
Amandis, who was known as “DJ Pat Pat” on stations in the Fort Myers-Naples market — including iHeartMedia rhythmic CHR “105.5 The Beat” WBTT, Fort Myers Broadcasting Spanish AC “97.7 Latino” WTLQ, and most recently Sun Broadcasting rhythmic CHR “Fly 98.5” WFFY — left the business last year to open Disco Bean Coffee Company, a combination coffee shop and vinyl record store featuring live deejay music on weekends.
“The radio business, you know, it doesn’t pay my bills, to be honest with you,” Amandis tells the Naples Daily News. “I just wanted to focus on this new venture.”…
