Thanks to happenings in Southwest Florida and Arizona, last weekend was a record-setter in the go-fast boating realm. The numbers were impressive.

The inaugural Fort Myers Offshore Marina Cantina Fun Run in Fort Myers Beach, Fla., attracted 67 registered entries and more 400 participants. And that wasn’t just a record for a first-time Fort Myers Offshore event. Though no hard records are kept on such things, it likely was an all-time record for a go-fast boating event on the water in January.
