Bond denied for stepson of reality TV star accused of killing son by practicing gun draw

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — The stepson of reality TV star Dog the Bounty Hunter is accused of killing his 13-year-old son after allegedly practicing drawing a gun from his waistband, a moment investigators say ended with the weapon reloaded and a single shot fired.

On Wednesday, a Collier County judge denied bond for 39-year-old Gregory Zecca, who was arrested in connection with the July 2023 shooting. Deputies say Zecca told investigators he had been rehearsing with what he believed was an unloaded handgun while his son was in the room.

At some point, according to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, the firearm was reloaded, and Zecca allegedly pulled the trigger, striking the boy.

Toxicology tests later showed Zecca was under the influence of alcohol and marijuana at the time, deputies said…
