For the Love of Cats will host its annual Community Cat Food Drive on Saturday, March 7, to support cats and the caregivers who feed them.
According to the organization, there are an estimated 50,000 community and feral cats throughout Collier County who depend on volunteer caregivers for daily food and care. Last year’s food drive collected more than 6,000 pounds of cat food, helping to feed over 800 community cats.
“Helping Community cats – and their caregivers – are important to our organization and our community at large,” said Jan Rich, Founder of For the Love of Cats. “Our dedicated caregivers ensure their colonies are well-cared for, fed, and monitored for illness or injury. Community cats enrich neighborhoods by helping control pests like palm rats, snakes, and other rodents. Every bag of food donated truly makes a difference, and together we can help even more cats and caregivers this year.”…
