A former Darien man was sentenced to more than seven years in prison Tuesday in connection with an investment fraud scheme, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
John A. Masanotti Jr., 71, was ordered by U.S. District Judge Victor A. Bolden in New Haven to serve 90 months — or 7½ years — in prison followed by three years of supervised release, said U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut David X. Sullivan.
Masanotti, of Bonita Springs, Fla., also agreed to pay $4,361,632 in restitution to the victims, and cooperate with the Internal Revenue Service to pay all back taxes, penalties and interest, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said…
