Collier County hosted the grand opening of Purr & Play, the County’s first feline interaction site, located inside the Exhibit Hall at North Collier Regional Park at 15000 Livingston Road, Naples.
Purr & Play was developed to create an engaging, low-stress environment for cats and visitors, enhancing placement opportunities for felines from Collier County Domestic Animal Services (CCDAS) and its partner agencies. Collier County is geographically expansive. Purr & Play represents an important step in enhancing the shelter’s reach beyond its primary location and creates new opportunities for residents who may not otherwise visit the main shelter campus to engage with animals in our care.
Purr & Play offers an interactive environment where guests can relax and spend time with feline residents in a calm, enriching space. By encouraging positive human–animal interaction, the space allows cats to showcase their personalities and helps community members experience the bonding in a meaningful way.
“Purr & Play represents what makes Collier County an exceptional community,” said James Hanrahan, Parks & Recreation Director. “This is a coordinated, multi-divisional effort that turns strategy into service. By aligning parks, facilities, operations, and animal services, we’ve created a model that benefits both our community and the animals in our care.”…
