Three for 3: St. Patrick’s Day

Irish Times

8939 Tamiami Tr. N, Naples – 239-350-1900

Irish Times Bar and Grill – the upscale gathering place filled with dark wood, a long narrow bar top and newly added pool tables and darts – is responsible for bringing Irish pub fare to Naples. With Saint Patrick’s Day just weeks away, celebrated annually on March 17, Irish Times will celebrate the green with their St. Patrick’s Day Party Extravaganza! The pub plans to open early, and revelers are equally welcome to order hand crafted cocktails or pints of thick Guiness. The hearty Irish fare includes sustainably sourced North Atlantic cod for fish and chips, appetizers like deviled eggs topped with bacon and chives or sausage rolls, which contain Donnelly’s Irish sausage, wrapped in puff pastry and baked to a golden brown. An Irish menu is not complete without corned beef and cabbage, served at Irish Times paired with carrots, fingerling potatoes and pub mustard for $26. Irish Times does accept reservations. They are open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to midnight, and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.

Cheery, bright red doors lead diners – and drinkers – into The Pub in Mercato. This cozy British pub offers indoor and patio seating, showcasing a cleverly named early dinner menu from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday evenings labeled: London Dinner Time. This Earlybird menu includes British staples like Bangers and Mash and Shepherd’s Pie available for $13. But don’t let any old clashes between the Brits and the Irish scare you away this St. Patrick’s Day. The all-day menu is inclusive, with Internationally inspired small plates, like the Market Board featuring assorted cheeses and focaccia slices layer between other charcuterie items, or even their award-winning (beer-battered) haddock and fried shrimp. The Pub’s food menu is almost as long as their shiny wooden bar counter, which is a prize, and also offers specialty “Brilliant Burgers” and luscious salads like their chopped wedge salad loaded with maple pepper bacon and blue cheese crumbles over iceberg lettuce. Drinks named for royalty inspire The Pub’s beverage menu. The Queen’s Perfect Gin and Tonic is customizable with your choice from at least seven gins and four flavored Fever-Tree tonics. Whiskey flights are another popular drink-menu delivery, featuring three half ounce pours of hand-selected whiskey.  The Pub is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. The Pub’s social media posts claim they have already begun celebrating Saint Patrick’s Day!
