Four Collier County Public Schools teachers were honored this month with Stand Up for Justice Educator Grants from the Jewish Federation of Greater Naples. The recipients — Monica Lorenz (Lavern Gaynor Elementary), Tammy Simmons (New Beginnings–Naples), Brent Brickzin and Dr. Juniace S. Etienne (both from Palmetto Ridge High School) — each received between $1,000 and $5,000 to fund classroom projects that promote respect for diverse identities, counter bullying, and teach students to stand up for justice. The program is organized by the Jewish Community Relations Council, led by Director Alan Zagier.
