Autism awareness increases in April

As part of Autism Awareness Month, STARability Foundation is encouraging the community to “shine blue” by embracing the unique strengths, talents and perspectives of individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. Building on years of advocacy and inclusion, STARability is championing a shift from awareness to meaningful acceptance by encouraging individuals, businesses and communities to foster environments where everyone is valued and supported.

Community members are invited to participate in a variety of ways, including:

  • Open House, April 2 at STARability’s main office in Naples – connect with STAR participants, experience the impact of programs supporting over 370 individuals or make a gift toward STARability’s $20,000 goal
  • Walk in Our Shoes, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on April 2 at Baker Park – walk alongside STAR participants on this high-energy, feel-good wellness walk and experience STARability’s mission firsthand
  • Autism Awareness Workshop, 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on April 2 at STARability’s main office – connect with STARs and STARability team members to learn, ask questions and experience inclusion in action

Together, these pieces will form a mural celebrating the uniqueness of individuals with autism and the strength of our community
