Man accused of armed break-in at ex-girlfriend’s Ave Maria porch while intoxicated

AVE MARIA, Fla. — A man is accused of wielding a gun under the influence of alcohol and breaking into a front porch in Ave Maria, according to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.

An arrest report says that deputies were called to an apartment on Double Eagle Circle in reference to a suspicious person. It adds that deputies heard a “banging” sound and someone speaking out loud.

Deputies say they approached the suspect, David Xavier Silva, 22, who was standing inside of the lanai of the residence holding an “AK-47” style pistol and wearing a mask and gloves. Deputies add that they told Silva to drop the gun, but he refused…
