Middle TN communities host free summer movie nights | LIST

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Now that the weather is warmer and school is out for the summer, communities across Middle Tennessee have set their schedules for free, family-friendly movies to be shown in the park.

From Clarksville to Columbia to Mt. Juliet, here are some of the cities in Middle Tennessee offering free summer moves in the park.

Nashville-Davidson County

Nashville has several opportunities to catch free movies in public parks, including the Nashville Scene’s June series at Elmington Park.

Metro Parks board approves Plan to Play updates

The 32nd annual Movies in the Park series begins June 4 with “A Cinderella Story.” Other movies to be shown this month include:

  • June 11 – “The Hannah Montana Movie”
  • June 18 – “Zootopia 2”
  • June 25 – “Back to the Future”

Nashville Yards also began a free summer movie series at the end of May in the Ascension Saint Thomas Landing. The series was originally supposed to kick off May 30 but was rescheduled to Saturday, June 13, with a screening of “Wicked.” Other movie nights also extend into the fall:

  • Saturday, July 11 – “The Secret Life of Pets”
  • Saturday, Aug. 8 – “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle”
  • Friday, Oct. 30 – “Hocus Pocus”

If you’re in Antioch, Tanger Outlets Nashville have their own free movie series on The Green of the shopping plaza. The series kicked off Wednesday, June 3, with a screening of “The Lorax.” Other screenings include:

  • Friday, June 26 – “Jumanji” (1995)
  • Friday, July 24 – “Monsters University”

The event is free and open to the public, and they can visit the Tanger Tent before each showing for exclusive Movie Night deals from Prince’s Hot Chicken, Shake Shack, Eggspectation, and Surcheros.

Sumner County

Goodlettsville’s summer movies in the park series kicks off Friday, June 5, at Peay Park, located at 200 Memorial Drive. The first movie to be shown is “Lilo & Stitch” (2025). Other films on the lineup include:

  • June 19 – “Zootopia 2”
  • July 31 – “Hoppers”
  • Aug. 14 – “Goat”

Goodlettsville Parks and Recreation invites all residents to grab their picnic blankets and head to Peay Park to enjoy the family-friendly free movie.

Rutherford County
