NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — An electrical fire under the grandstands at the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway is renewing conversations about safety upgrades and the long-term future of the historic racetrack.
During Tuesday’s Metro Fair Commission meeting, commissioners discussed the June 2 fire and raised concerns about aging infrastructure, accessibility issues and delayed redevelopment plans tied to the Speedway property.
The Nashville Fire Department confirmed to News 2 that investigators classified the fire at 625 Coliseum Way as accidental and determined the cause was electrical.
