Abandoned Puppies and Neglected Senior Dogs Get Second Chance Thanks to Tennessee Rescue Effort (Exclusive)

Animal Rescue Corps (ARC) is helping dozens of vulnerable dogs across Tennessee find a second chance after partnering with local shelters and animal control agencies to rescue and care for 37 animals in need.

The rescue efforts included abandoned puppies and senior Chihuahuas rescued from an alleged cruelty case, which led to shelters being overwhelmed due to limited resources. According to ARC executive director Tim Woodward, multiple organizations across the state provided transport, veterinary care and temporary housing for the dogs.

“These types of collaborations are happening every day,” Woodward exclusively tells PEOPLE. “Our partners are often facing urgent situations with limited resources, and we’re able to step in to help stabilize those cases and create positive outcomes for the animals.”

Among the recent rescues were 18 mixed-breed puppies between six and eight weeks old that had been surrendered in Alamo, Tenn. ARC also took in a pit bull mother and her nine 4-week-old puppies after they were abandoned, according to the organization…
