NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Metro police have arrested a man accused of taking part in an attack on a store employee that ended in gunfire.
On May 7, 2026, officers responded to a reported shooting at Dollar General near East Trinity Lane and Gallatin Pike.
According to arrest documents, surveillance footage showed Montez Ridley, 35, entering the store with another man and carrying out an unprovoked attack on a male employee. The pair were seen punching, kicking, and dragging the employee before stealing his phone.

Just before the attack, the unidentified suspect reportedly handed a handgun to Ridley. During the assault, the gun fell away from Ridley and was picked up by another store employee, who fired at the suspects…
