Two Nashville charter schools drop fifth grade after enrollment declines

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Two Nashville charter schools will eliminate fifth grade beginning this fall after the Metro Nashville Public Schools Board approved emergency amendment requests tied to declining enrollment and changes to the schools’ grade configurations.

The MNPS Board of Education unanimously approved emergency amendments for Liberty Collegiate and Nashville Prep during its June 9 meeting. Both schools, which are operated by RePublic Schools Network, requested the removal of fifth grade and a reduction in enrollment capacity.
