Authorities in Tennessee shot and killed five dogs found on and around their owner after responding to a gruesome scene earlier this month.
The 47-year-old woman was heard screaming for help from her Nashville, Tenn., home when a neighbor called 911 a little before midnight on June 8, the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department said in a statement.
Responding officers had to kick in the door to the woman’s home, where they found her bloodied and motionless on the kitchen floor. There were dogs “on and around” her, Nashville police said in their statement. Three officers fired at the dogs “in defense of the victim and in protection of themselves.”…
