NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Showers, downpours and thunderstorms have been a daily occurrence across Middle Tennessee for the last few weeks. All this rain has added up to some impressive rain totals and has improved the drought!
The week from July 6 to July 12, Nashville recorded measurable rainfall on six of those seven days and received nearly 2″ of rainfall. Locations to the north and west of Nashville saw much more. Radar is showing more than 5″ of rain fell across parts of Humphreys, Houston, Henry, Dickson, Stewart and Montgomery counties. Some areas in Kentucky recorded double-digit rain totals, leading to flash flooding.
The highest rain totals recorded by the official National Weather Service weather stations from July 1 through July 12 were 6.34″ in Bowling Green, 5.92″ in Paris, and 5.63″ in Clarksville!
