Proposed parking changes for 12 South deferred as city seeks consultant

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A proposed set of parking and traffic changes for 12th Avenue South has been deferred for 60 days after city officials said more community engagement and a consultant-led analysis are needed before moving forward.

The Nashville Department of Transportation presented updates on the plan at Monday’s Parking and Traffic Commission meeting, which included proposed two-hour time-limited parking, new rideshare pickup and drop-off zones, new loading zones and time-limited parking on side streets next to businesses.

Several people that live in the 12 South neighborhood attended a community meeting in June and it ran more than two hours, officials said. But following the meeting, NDOT decided more analysis was needed before any changes could be implemented…
