NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A Metro Council proposal would ban most right turns on red across Nashville’s downtown core and surrounding neighborhoods.
Council member Sandra Sepulveda introduced the bill on Tuesday night trying to protect pedestrians in the Urban Services District. It requires drivers to wait for a green light rather than proceeding through the intersection after stopping.
Twenty people have been killed crossing the road in Nashville so far this year, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.
