Alleged inappropriate actions at a Hendersonville restaurant and later online led the arrest of a man on a charge of solicitation of a minor to commit statutory rape.
According to court records, the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by a concerned parent whose child had been working the drive-thru at a Hendersonville restaurant. The child allegedly told their mother than a man had approached her with a handwritten note saying “You are absolutely gorgeous! Give me a text or call” and then provided his name and phone number.
The man, later identified as Jason Patrick Hiam, 41, of Hendersonville, then reportedly loitered in the restaurant for over an hour, making the child believe he intended to determine what vehicle they drove. The child informed their mother of the incident…
