A grand jury has indicted a Nashville man for allegedly cutting dozens of trees along the boundary of a state park in order to improve the view from a private home under construction nearby.
The Tennessee Department of Agriculture said the investigation began in April 2025 after officials at Savage Gulf State Park contacted Agricultural Crime Unit (ACU) Lead Agent Michael Whaley about unauthorized timber cutting on state property.
