NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A fire severely damaged Helen’s Hot Chicken near Vanderbilt University earlier this month, destroying the Nashville restaurant’s kitchen and leaving the future of the family-run business uncertain.

The Nashville Fire Department said crews were dispatched to the 2000 block of Scarritt Place on Sept. 6 after receiving reports of a structure fire. When first responders arrived, they found flames on the side of the building.
