That is the number attached to Paramount’s reported search for office space near downtown Nashville — roughly 400,000 square feet, with a move-in window of two to three years. Two people familiar with the search, described in reports that surfaced September 16, say company representatives have contacted at least two developers about constructing new offices here, and have toured a vacant multi-acre site outside the core where a headquarters could be built from the ground up. The reason they are talking to builders rather than brokers is simple arithmetic: no existing building in that part of town has a vacancy that matches both the size and the timeline.
Paramount declined to comment. That is worth saying plainly and early, because everything that follows is context rather than confirmation.
