NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A Middle Tennessee nonprofit is on a mission of helping the area’s growing population of older adults.
AgeWell was started in 1985 as a nonprofit looking at the unmet needs of older adults. They’ve now grown to serve 13 counties of northern Middle Tennessee.
“I think a lot of problems with older adults is a lot of them living on fixed income and Nashville of course is not the city that they grew up in or lived in,” said AgeWell Programs and Community Engagement Director Paula Daigle. “The cost of living transportation challenges are always an issue. We’re seeing with some of the federal cuts, some of the issues related to food insecurities among older adults.”
