LA VERGNE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A 59-year-old man has been hospitalized after being taken into protective custody following an “active barricade situation” according to the La Vergne Police Department.
La Vergne police said the incident began as a welfare check initiated by the Smyrna Police Department but ended in the parking lot of a Pilot Travel Center in La Vergne.
The man reportedly fled Smyrna authorities but was located at the gas station by La Vergne officers shortly after 1 p.m.
