The winter’s first snow storm was one for the ages. In terms of snowfall and an extended period of sub-freezing arctic air, combining for life-threaten conditions, it was a winter storm rarely witnessed locally. The season’s first snowfall inundated the county with around six inches of frozen precipitation.
