NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Five local high school bass fishing teams came together in the pouring rain Saturday for a community service project.
The teams along with one business worked together to remove 33,322 pounds of trash from the banks of Percy Priest Lake.
Tennessee BASS Nation and Tennessee Conservation organized the trash clean-up “tournament” where students received TN Promise hours for cleaning up the lake.

Tennessee Bass Nation President Jake Davis said just over 142,000 pounds of trash has been collected from Middle Tennessee lakes over the past two years. Sixty-five people turned out for Saturday’s event.
The trash consisted of alcohol and beer bottles, hundreds of tires, many TVs, microwaves, buoys, mattresses, recliners, couches, appliances, automotive batteries and a porta-potty, according to a release.
