Missing 11-year-old girl found safe

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A young girl who had been missing out of Nashville for almost a week has been found safe.

Authorities said 11-year-old Genesis Howard was last seen by her family on Tuesday, Jan. 23.

While Howard has run away from home before, her family said she would normally come home after a couple of days and has always maintained some type of contact with her mother.

According to detectives with the Metro Nashville Police Department, it was unusual for Howard to have “been gone this long.”
