District 19 Council Member Jacob Kupin told News 2 to his knowledge, there were no injuries and no surrounding structures had been impacted by the collapse. He said the construction project was for a future apartment complex. He said inspectors had been on site following the collapse Tuesday, and more were coming overnight.

“It appears that there was some site work being done and that the kind of roadway structure got undermined and pieces of it collapsed. I’m being told that there’s no current danger to the adjacent buildings. I did ask that question. And kind of figuring out what our next steps are for this for this site and for the roadway,” Kupin told News 2 after speaking with NDOT.
