CHEATHAM COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – “A gentle giant.”

That’s how the family of Carl Schoenfeld is remembering him after he was found shot and killed at his Chestnut Road home in Cheatham County Sunday, Jan. 28 . Investigators said 33-year-old Terry Anderson Jr. was also found dead at the home that night.

Friends described Schoenfeld as a quiet, peaceful man who loved the company of anyone willing to cross the creek to see him. They shared videos to News 2 of Schoenfeld singing, providing a glimpse into his life.

“He very much loved around the creek and definitely considered a creeker,” said Johnny Gentry who lives close by, adding Schoenfeld was like a godfather.

He was a plumbing specialist with the nickname “plumber,” as well as a lover of rock music and his wild cats.

“He would spend his last dime on his wild cats,” Gentry laughed.

He added Schoenfeld was well loved by the community and was always willing to help anyone out.

“He always had a smile on his face, especially since he got his teeth. I mean, everybody knew that,” Schoenfeld’s niece LaQueena Fulkerson laughed.
