NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A well-known Nashville bar and restaurant is expected to get a renaissance after abruptly closing almost five years ago.
Real estate entrepreneur Tony Giarratana told News 2’s Blake Eason in an exclusive one-on-one interview he plans to bring The Gold Rush back.
“If you wanted Mexican, that’s where you’d go and so we bought the trademark for Gold Rush,” said Giarratana.
Well-known Nashville bar ‘The Gold Rush’ closes after 44 years
The Elliston Place staple unexpectedly closed in 2019 after serving the Nashville community for nearly 44 years.
The midtown classic was famous for what it called its “Bean Roll,” a signature dish at the restaurant.

This isn’t the first longtime restaurant Giarratana has stepped in to save. In 2019, the Elliston Place Soda Shop couldn’t reach a deal with its current owners, so Giarratana stepped and purchased the brand and a new building — 10 feet down the road from the original location.
