2 teens found guilty of first-degree murder in connection with Antioch shooting

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Two teens accused of killing another teen on his front porch in Antioch in 2021 have been found guilty of first-degree murder.

The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) said Edgar “EJ” Utley was only 15 years old when he was shot and killed . The then 15 and 16-year-old suspects have been found guilty.

According to Davidson County Criminal Court Judge Steve Dozier, Wilton alexander and Trameisha Farris have been sentenced to life in prison.

Surveillance video from the scene on the day of the shooting shows Farris dressed in white and standing at the front door while Alexander, dressed in Red, sneaks around the corner to shoot Utley.

Emergency personnel arrived a few minutes later and rushed Utley to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died, according to authorities.

Police said it is believed robbery was the motive.
