Passenger shot after fight along Harding Place

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — One man was shot after a driver opened fire on a box truck on Harding Place in South Nashville Thursday morning.

The shooting happened around 6:45 a.m. at the intersection of Linbar Drive and Harding Place.

Metro police reported the two victims were inside a box truck when another box truck pulled up alongside them at a red light. The suspected shooter allegedly got out of his box truck, tried to get in the other one and started fighting with the passenger.

Then, the driver reportedly got out of his truck and joined the ongoing fight between the shooter and passenger.

According to Metro police, everyone got back in their vehicles before the suspected shooter pulled out a gun and fired toward the other box truck, striking the passenger in the leg.

That victim was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The shooter was transported to TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the fight, according to Metro police.
