Tennessee Lottery celebrates 20 years

Tennessee State Lottery turns 20

Can you believe it’s been 20 years that Tennessee has had a state lottery?

The first Tennessee lottery ticket was sold in January 2004. Since then, more than $7.2 billion worth of lottery entries have been purchased, and more than 2 million college scholarships have been awarded as a result.

While some had their reservations about the lottery, there’s no denying that it’s had a huge impact on Tennesseans and their ability to pursue higher education.
