Pedestrian killed in crash on West End Avenue

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A pedestrian has died after they were hit by a vehicle while crossing West End Avenue Tuesday night.

The crash happened at the intersection of West End Avenue and 17th Avenue South around 9:30 a.m.

According to Metro police, a man was crossing the street when he was hit by a Infiniti Q50. Investigators believe the Infiniti had the green light at the intersection. The driver told investigators the man was in her lane of travel and she could not avoid hitting him.

The man was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Efforts are underway to identify him through fingerprints at the Medical Examiner’s Office.

The driver of the Infiniti did not show signs of impairment at the scene, according to Metro police.

The investigation is ongoing.
