Multiple agencies recovered body from Old Hickory Lake

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Both state agencies and units from multiple counties have recovered a body from Old Hickory Lake.

A spokesperson with the Gallatin Fire Department told News 2 that their agency assisted the Wilson County EMA with a drowning call on Friday afternoon. The fire department reportedly made contact with the victim’s boat.

Wilson County law enforcement on the scene told News 2 that a family rented a pontoon boat when a man entered the water and never came back up. Authorities added that the rest of the family is safe.

Recovery efforts are underway. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) has taken the lead in the recovery process along with Wilson County authorities. Hendersonville authorities joined the effort later on Friday afternoon. The TWRA later said that the Army Corps of Engineers also assisted with the recovery.

Just after 5:30 p.m., a spokesperson for Hendersonville Fire said that the body was officially recovered from the lake.
