Officials launch internal review after pedestrian, Tennessee Highway Patrol crash

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating a collision in Springfield between a State Trooper’s cruiser and a pedestrian.

Officials said a Tennessee State Trooper and pedestrian were involved in a crash on Memorial Boulevard in Robertson County.

THP did not provide any details about how the crash happened.

Neither the officer nor the pedestrian’s identities have been released.

Police did not comment on the pedestrian’s condition.

“The trooper has been reassigned to administrative duties while we conduct an internal review,” a THP representative said Monday.

The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office said Monday on Facebook that the agency was not involved in the incident Sunday night.

City of Springfield vehicles were also not involved, Springfield Public Affairs Coordinator Natasha Tice said.

The investigation is ongoing.
