Hearing scheduled for lawsuit involving Tennessee Vols commit

A hearing for a lawsuit involving 2026 five-star Tennessee Vols quarterback commit Faizon Brandon has reportedly been scheduled.

Brandon’s mother recently filed a lawsuit against the state of North Carolina due to the state’s laws against athletes at public high schools being able to profit off their name, image, and likeness.

Athletes at private high schools in North Carolina can profit from their name, image, and likeness, but the same rules don’t apply to athletes at public high schools.

According to High School OT, the hearing has been scheduled for September 30.

From High School OT : An in-person hearing will be held at 10 a.m. on Sept. 30 at the Wake County Courthouse, according to court documents.

Rolanda Brandon, the mother of Grimsley High School quarterback Faizon Brandon, is seeking a preliminary injunction which could allow NIL activities for high school athletes in North Carolina.

Rolanda Brandon filed the lawsuit last month on behalf of her son. In the complaint, the family says Faizon is missing out on opportunities to make “a substantial sum of money” with a trading card company.
