Luke Bryan dives into Nashville shopping, opening new apparel brand Jockey store

When longstanding coffee shop Portland Brew 12 South shuttered at the end of August, it left community members wondering what would take its place. Wednesday morning, they got their answer.

Country superstar Luke Bryan and men’s apparel company Jockey announced that they’re teaming up to open a retail shop called Coopers 12South in the former coffee shop. The store’s name is in honor of Jockey founder Samuel Cooper.

Coopers 12South is slated to open in late November.

“I could not be more excited to partner with my friends at Jockey to open this store right here in Music City on 12South,” Bryan, who lives in Columbia, Tenn., said in a statement. “Coopers 12South is going to be such a great experience for everyone who enters our door while also focusing on being a good neighbor to those up and down that street. What an honor to not only shine a light on the outdoors I love to sing about and live every day but also offer a place for many others to share their visions and passions.”

Coopers will combine Bryan’s love of the outdoors with an homage to Nashville’s music, selling everything from Bryan’s collection of Jockey flannels and vests to locally-crafted artisan goods and one-of-a-kind apparel from Nashville designers.
