BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Southwest Airlines officially began nonstop service from Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport to Nashville Sunday. To commemorate the inaugural flight, BHM rolled out a special gate party for passengers. Travelers were able to enjoy complimentary snacks and giveaways, and had the chance to register for Southwest Airlines Gift Cards.
