Tennessee Vols part of a feat that hadn’t happened since before the COVID pandemic

The Tennessee Vols were part of a feat this past weekend that hadn’t happened since before the COVID-19 pandemic.

As pointed out by The Tennessean’s Alex Daugherty, this past weekend was the first time that the Vols, Tennessee Titans, Nashville Predators, and Vanderbilt Commodores all won in the same weekend since November 23/24, 2019.

A lot has changed for all of those teams since 2019.

Jeremy Pruitt was in the middle of leading the Vols to an 8-5 season in 2019. Things were looking up for Tennessee after a slow start to the season, but it would all fall apart for the Vols during the 2020 season, which led to the hiring of Josh Heupel in early 2021.

Vanderbilt, meanwhile, went 3-9under Derek Mason in 2019. In 2020, Mason was fired after starting 0-8.

The Titans nearly went to the Super Bowl in 2019/2020, but they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game. Mike Vrabel would stick around a few more seasons before getting replaced by Brian Callahan.

As for the Preds, PeterĀ Laviolette was fired as the franchise’s head coach on January 6, 2020.
