Jerome Dempsey won a Smyrna Town Council seat and will join reelected incumbents Racquel Peebles and Steve Sullivan.
Peebles won the most votes with 8,393 (22.85%) with 30 of 30 voting centers reporting, according to the Rutherford County Election Commission.
Dempsey was runnerup with 7,231 votes (19.69%).
Sullivan was third with 6,689 votes (18.21%).
The top three candidates out of six earning at-large votes won four-year terms to serve on the Smyrna Town Council.
The Rutherford County Election Commission will be certifying the election results in Rutherford during a 5 p.m. Nov. 25 meeting at the commission’s office in downtown Murfreesboro.
Former Smyrna Mayor Tony Dover finished fourth with 6,428 votes (17.50%).
Marquinta “Mutt” Richardson was fifth with 4,193 votes (11.42%), and Lisa West Reasonover placed sixth with 3,643 votes (9.92%).
